6 October 2019: In collaboration with the Liverpool Arab Arts Festival, as well as the Universities of Leeds and Liverpool, Tamadon organised an important poetry workshop in Sheffield. This workshop focused on the profound role of poetry in fostering peace, harmony, and countering hate speech in Yemen. Notably, the event witnessed a substantial turnout from the Yemeni community residing in Sheffield, with a strong representation of women.
During the workshop, participants engaged in various activities, shared their poetic creations, and conveyed their perspectives on the Yemeni conflict. Their poetry echoed a yearning for peace, a desire to bridge political divides, and a commitment to promoting unity and love for Yemen.
